Lifting My Eyes

“Lifting my eyes from the book, from the tightly sequenced lines to the full and perfect night: Oh how I like the stars my buried feelings break free, as if a bouquet of wildflowers had come untied. The upswing of the light ones, the bowing of the heavy ones and the delicate ones’ timid curve. Everywhere joy in relation and nowhere grasping; World in abundance and earth enough. “

(Rainer Maria Rilke – “Lifting My Eyes “ – Uncollected Poems)

K-Chair and K-Plus

I came across this chair-stool pair a couple of weeks ago and I was simply mesmerized. Delicate and simple, modern and yet, a bit old-fashioned, the “K-Chair” and “K-Plus” are thoroughly inviting. Danish designer Helle Damkaer created the set for Japanese furniture manufacturer Kitani. She states that “K” is for Kitani and “Ki” stands for wood and spirit in Japanese.

Wearing Sunshine

Since bright summer days are still a distance away, introducing a splash of sunshine into an outfit is the quickest solution to a dreary day. Aside from the beautiful citrus color, this chunky cable knit sweater is a great piece to contrast with the inherently feminine skirt and sandals. Speaking of the skirt, the horizontal details at the bottom make me think of Klimt’s painting and in particular, the multitude of eyes set in triangles that adorn Adele’s dress.
